Welcome Garden Flag Tiling Scene
For the beautiful Welcome Garden Tiling Scene Flag, you will need the following:
- Hoops: Medium, oval and midi or square
- Stabilizers: Ultra Clean & Tear, Fusible Woven
- Fabric: 1 yard for background, 1/2 yard for backing, 22"x16" batting
- Assorted small pieces of cotton or glitter vinyl for applique : light yellow, brown, purple, red, orange, blue, yellow OR your choice of colors
- 1/4 yard of fabric for binding
Also:
- Sewing machine with embroidery module
- #26 foot, straight stitch throat plate if you have one for machine
- Oil for your machine
- Several bobbins wound with bobbin thread
- Contrasting bobbin thread for the seam stitch only
- Regular white bobbin thread
- A good pair of small scissors to trim the applique fabric
- OESD Expert Embroidery Tear Away Tape
- Ruler, rotary cutter, mat
- 505 Spray
- Embroidery needles or 80 sharps needles
Before Class:
Cut your background fabric into a 10x15" piece for all designs EXCEPT design 3 & 5; these can be stitched in a smaller hoop.
Apply Fusible Woven to the wrong side of the background fabric.
Have the Ultra Clean & Tear cut to 10x 15". You will need two layers per design.
Consider coming in to the store when Joan is here: Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, for her advice on fabrics and thread choices ahead of class!
Bring other supplies that you think would be useful for embroidery.
