Leggings or exercise wear

Everyone wears leggings these days--they're not just for working out at the gym, although you can.  You can also wear them under a knit dress or tunic.  Kids love them with a T-shirt or dress for school. But you don't have to spend a fortune to have cute, designer leggings and other workout wear.

Learn to make your own for a lot less money than the store bought ones.  Starting from any leggings pattern (we recommend Jalie 2920 or Kwik Sew 3636), you will learn how to create exactly the style you like to fit just the way you like.  Do you prefer a yoke rather than a straight elastic waistband?  Capri length or full length?  How about stirrups or bike shorts?  Want contrasting stripe down the leg or even wrapping diagonally around the leg?  You will learn how to measure yourself (or whoever you want to make them for), how to determine the amount of stretch in your fabric, and how to adjust your pattern to work with the stretch in the fabric.  You will also learn how to manipulate your pattern for exactly the look you want.  These can be made on either a serger or a sewing machine.
